A Window of New Perspectives on China, Asia and the World

With the globalization trend gaining more momentum, and particularly in the backdrop of the ongoing economic crisis, the launching of CCTV-News in Malta no doubt opens a new window of perspectives on China, Asia and the world, said Ambassador Zhang Keyuan when he made remarks on 9th September at the ceremony by Melita to mark its official launching of CCTV- news channel in Malta.

   

Commending Melita on its vision and efforts to bring the channel to Malta, Ambassador Zhang noted the channel as the first Chinese and Asian English-language TV channel in Malta, Zhang believed it will also help foster richer environment for the intercultural communications and interaction in Malta.

Expressing satisfaction on Melita's successful start of cooperation with CCTV, Dr. Borg, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Malta acclaimed the launching of CCTV-News to Malta as a further example reflecting the vigour of the good relations existing between Malta and China. Dr. Borg also envisaged all-around relations were to be lifted to a new high with the upcoming 40th anniversary on the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.

   

Melita is the biggest digital cable TV provider in Malta with subscribers of 65,000 households. With the latest addition of Chinese English news channel, it now shows an array of dozen international news channels also in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Arabic etc.
