Ambassador Gao Yanping Meets with
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Israel

On October 2nd, Ambassador Gao Yanping met in the Israeli Foreign Ministry with Mr. Avigdor Lieberman, Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. Mr. Miao Deyu, Political Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, Ms. Ruth Kahanoff, Deputy Director General of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, and Mr. Benny Sharoni, Political Adviser to Foreign Minister Lieberman were present.
Foreign Minister Lieberman welcomed Ambassador Gao's assumption of her post, and wished her all the best during her tenure in
Ambassador Gao conveyed Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi's best wishes to Mr. Lieberman, and said since the two countries established their diplomatic relations in 1992, the bilateral relations had developed stably, with mutual trust strengthened and exchanges and cooperation broadened. Looking to the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year, Ambassador Gao said China was willing to work with Israel to further deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, and promote pragmatic cooperation between the two countries, with a view to creating more trade, more investment, and more employment opportunities for the two peoples, and bringing more tangible benefits to the two sides.
Ambassadors Gao and Foreign Minister Lieberman also exchanged their views on other issues of mutual concern.
