Ambassador Gao Yanping meets with
Director General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel

On October 26th, Ambassador Gao Yanping met with Mr. Rafael Barak, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel. Counsellor Dai Yuming and Mr. Hagai Shagrir, Director of the Northeast Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Mr. Amir Lati, Desk officer of Chinese Affairs of the Northeast Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel among others were present.
Director General Barak warmly welcomed Ambassador Gao for assuming her new post and said that Ambassador Gao had already met with many senior Israeli government officials within less than two months after her arrival, which strongly promoted the development of the relations between Israel and China. The Government of Israel attaches great importance on its relations with China and is ready to seize the opportunity of the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic ties next year to continue to strengthen exchanges and deepen cooperation with China.
Ambassador Gao thanked the Government and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel for their support to her work and expressed her appreciation to Director General Barak for his contributions to the development of the bilateral relations. Ambassador Gao said, she felt happy and honored to be appointed as the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Israel. At the same time, she was fully aware of the great responsibilities and would make strenuous efforts to further deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples and further promote bilateral pragmatic cooperation in various fields based on mutual respect and trust. Ambassador Gao stressed that healthy and stable Sino-Israel relations meet the interests of both countries and peoples, and are conducive to regional and world peace, stability and development. China will unswervingly follow the road of peaceful development and adhere to an independent foreign policy of peace.
Ambassador Gao and Director General Barak exchanged views on the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relationship between two countries next year and other issues of mutual concern.
