On November 3, Consul General Xu met with Mr. Johnny Isakson, US Senator from Georgia at U.S. Capitol Hill. Mr. Chris Sullivan, legislative assistant to Sen. Isakson and Vice Consul Wang Rui from the Chinese Consulate were present.

Consul General Xu exchanged views with Sen. Isakson on the development of China-U.S. relationship and the friendly cooperation between China and Georgia.

Sen. Isakson said that he was delighted at Mme. Xu's assumption as the Chinese Consul General in Houston. He recalled his pleasant visit to China last April, stating that he is greatly interested in China's development and U.S.-China relationship, and welcomes investment to Georgia by Chinese enterprisers and the educational and cultural exchanges between Georgia and China. He wishes to see progress in Georgia's cooperation with China on more areas including energy and ports.
