Consul General Xu Erwen meets with Georgia Governor and Atlanta Mayor

On September 28, Consul General Xu Erwen met with Mr. Nathan Deal, Governor of Georgia and Mr. Kasim Reed, Mayor of Atlanta in Atlanta City, state capital of Georgia. Consul Yao Wenliang, Vice-Consul Wang Rui from the Chinese Consulate, Mr. Carrie Ashbee, Executive Assistant to the Governor and Mr. Candace Byrd, Chief of Staff of the Atlanta Mayor's office were present.
Consul General Xu thanked Governor Deal and Mayor Reed for their hospitality. She recalled Hunan Governor Zhou Qiang's visit to Georgia earlier this year, noting that the bilateral exchanges and cooperation between China and Georgia are in good shape and have brought tangible benefits to both sides in trade, investment and job creation. Consul General Xu warmly welcomed Governor Deal to visit China in this October and Mayor Reed next Spring, hoped the visits could further enhance the cooperation between China and Georgia, China and Atlanta.
Governor Deal and Mayor Reed congratulated Mme. Xu on her assuming office as Chinese Consul General in Houston, expressed their delight to have the chance to meet with Consul General Xu and exchange views on how to promote the exchanges and cooperation in all fields between Georgia and China, Atlanta and China. They applauded China's strong momentum of economic development and expressed confidence in the bright future and vast potential for the bilateral cooperation. Governor Deal and Mayor Reed said that they were looking forward to the coming visits to China, and hoped the visits could further deepen the cooperation with China, establish more Sister States and Sister Cities with China, and open up new channels for the bilateral cooperation. Governor Deal and Mayor Reed especially welcomed more and more Chinese enterprises to invest in Georgia and Atlanta.
