Ambassador Yang Youming met with OMC "2011 World Best Stylist of the Year"

On Nov. 18, 2011, H.E. Mr. Yang Youming, Chinese Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago and his wife Mrs.Geng Hailing met at their residence Chinese hair stylist Mr. Liu Jian, who is now working in Port of Spain. Mr. Liu Jian, representing China at "InterCHARM MILANO", the international hair stylist competition hosted by OMC (Organisation Mondiale Coiffure) in Milan, Italy, won the overall winner of "2011 World Best Stylist of the Year", as well as the 1st place for ladies category in October this year.
Mr. Liu Jian told Ambassador Yang about his experience at the competition. Ambassador Yang congratulated him for winning the top awards among many strong competitors from all over the world. Ambassador Yang told Mr. Liu that he should be proud of his personal achievement, and the pride he has brought to China. He encouraged the young gentleman to continue his hard work, to help training more talented hair stylists for Trinidad and Tobago and to make his own contribution to the exchanges and cooperation between China and Trinidad and Tobago. Mr. Liu Jian thanked Ambassador Yang for the meeting. He said that he was both excited and proud to be the "2011 World Best Stylist of the Year" representing China. It marked a new starting point for him to further improve his professional and other skills. He promised Ambassador Yang that he would put his heart into his teaching job in Trinidad and Tobago and share his experience and skills with his local students.
OMC, Organisation Mondiale Coiffure is the world largest beauty organization based in Paris, France. Mr. Liu Jian was a teacher of Pivot Point College Sichuan, China before he came to Trinidad and Tobago as a visiting teacher for the Pivot Point Academy in Port of Spain early last year. Mr. Liu quickly became famous as the news of his winning the awards went around. The Guardian newspaper of Trinidad and Tobago published a front page interview on its " Life Today" on Oct. 27, highly praising Mr. Liu for winning the awards for China while benefitting Trinidad and Tobago.
