On December 12th, Ambassador Gao Yanping met with Mr. Ze'ev Binjamin Begin, Minister without Portfolio of Israel. Counselor Dai Yuming of the Embassy among others was present.
Minister Begin warmly welcomed Ambassador Gao for assuming her new post and highly praised that China successfully fed a large population and made tremendous achievement in economic development. Israeli government attaches great importance on developing Sino-Israeli relations, and the co-operation in varied fields between Israel and China have been deepened and broadened since Sino-Israeli diplomatic relations established. He himself would like to put efforts to improve the relations to a higher level. Ambassador Gao said, as the 6th Chinese Ambassador to Israel, she is fully aware of the great responsibility on her shoulder. Since Sino-Israeli diplomatic relations established, mutual trust between the two countries has been enhanced. The total volume of mutual trade in 2011 is 150 times of it in 1992, and the two countries have achieved fruitful co-operation in varied fields including technology, agriculture, culture and education. It's hoped that both governments would further enlarge and deepen the pragmatic co-operation next year by grasping the opportunity of the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Israeli diplomatic relations, bringing benefit to both countries and peoples. Ambassador Gao and Minister Begin also exchanged views on other issues of mutual concern.
