Consul General Xu Erwen Meets with the Chief of Staff of the Office of Former U.S. President George H.W. Bush

On December 20, 2011, Consul General Xu Erwen met with Ms. Jean Becker, Chief of Staff of the Office of the former U.S. President George H.W. Bush. Deputy Consul General Xie Yunliang, Vice Consul Wang Rui and Laura Pears, staff of President Bush's office were present.
Consul General Xu expressed her thanks to President Bush as well as his office staff for their longtime support and significant contributions to the development of China-U.S. relations and to the friendship between the two peoples. She wished them good health and Happy Christmas and New Year.
Ms. Becker conveyed President Bush's good wishes for a sound and stable development of China-U.S. relationship. She said the 5th China-U.S. Relations Conference held this October in College Station was a big success and thanked the Chinese side for their contribution to the conference. She also said that President Bush and all his office staff highly value their friendship with the Chinese Consulate General in Houston and will try their best to make more contributions to the healthy and stable development of China-U.S. relations. Consul General Xu and Ms. Becker also exchanged views on other issues of their common interest.
