Chinese Ambassador to Dominica, H.E. Wang Zonglai, paid a courtesy call on January 23rd, 2012, on Hon. Edison James, Newly-elected Political Leader of the United Workers Party, Dominica's official opposition.

Ambassador Wang extended his congratulations on Mr. James's successful election and conveyed the willingness of the Chinese Government and the Communist Party of China to strengthen friendly and cooperative relations with all circles of Dominica, including the opposition parties. Noticing it's on the occasion of the Spring Festival, the most important traditional Chinese festival, Mr. James expressed to Ambassador Wang his best wishes of a happy and prosperous New Year.

The political scenario and the agricultural development of Dominica and the relations across the Taiwan Straits were also among the topics on which the views were exchanged during the meeting.
