Ambassador Gao Yanping Meets with the Mayor of Eilat

On 30th January, Ambassador Gao Yanping met in the City of Eilat with Mr. Meir Yitzhak Havlevi, Mayor of Eilat. Mr. Hu Ming, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy, and Ms. Marlen Rosenfeld, Senior Assistant to the Mayor, Mr. Shabtai Tzur, Chairman of the Eilat Port, were present.

Ambassador Gao said, since the establishment of the diplomatic relations 20years ago, bilateral relations between China and Israel have developed rapidly, fruitful results of cooperation in various fields have been achieved, exchanges between cities of the two countries have enhanced continuously. The friendly relationship has brought tangible benefits to the two peoples. The two countries have just celebrated the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations, which was an important milestone in the history of Sino-Israel relations, the two sides should seize this opportunity to co-write a better tomorrow for Sino-Israel relations. Ambassador Gao also hoped that as sister cities , Yinchuan and Eilat would maintain close contact, further strengthen cooperation and contribute to the friendly relations between China and Israel.

Mayor Havlevi said that as Israel's important window and channel in linking with foreign countries, the city of Eilat attaches great importance to the friendly and cooperative relations with China. It is hoped that the city of Eilat would continuously deepen cooperation with China and strengthen friendly exchanges with Chinese sister city. The city of Eilat warmly welcomes more Chinese tourists, experts and labor personnel to come.
