On 9th February, Ambassador Gao Yanping met in her residence with Mr. Shlomo Bohbot, Chairman of the Union of Local Authorities in Israel(ULAI), Mr. Dai Yuming, Counselor of the Embassy, Mr. Moshik Lipetz, Chairman of the Sub-Committee for Asia Affairs of ULAI, Ms. Ruth Wasserman-Lande, Head of the International Relations Division in ULAI, were present.

Ambassador Gao said that bilateral relations have developed rapidly in the past 20 years, fruitful results have been achieved in pragmatic cooperation in various fields. Ties among local governments have become closer, making great contribution to the promotion of bilateral relations and understanding and trust between the two peoples. Ambassador Gao hoped that Mr. Bohbot and the Union could continue to play an active role in strengthening exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between local governments of the two countries.

Mr. Bohbot said Israeli local governments are willing to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with relevant Chinese cities, and learn from each other for the benefit of the two peoples. Coordinated by the Union, more than 10 Israeli mayors are going to visit China in March this year. It's believed that the visit will further promote exchanges and cooperation among local governments, deepen understanding and friendship between the two peoples, and play an active role in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
