On February 21, 2012, a band in Chinese traditional costumes appeared for the first time of in the costume parade of Mas Dominik (Dominica's Carnival).

The band was co-sponsored by the ThunderBirds, a famous Carnival band organizer, the Chinese Embassy and the local Chinese community. Dominican and Chinese participants alike dressed as emperors, empresses, princesses, warriors and many other characters and staged a multi-dimension display of the traditional Chinese culture.

Splendid as it was, the debut attracted much of the attention of the local and foreign spectators.
