Consul General Yang Guoqiang Attended the Opening Reception of Katten's New Office in Shanghai

At the invitation of (CHICAGO) Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, Yang Guoqiang, the Consul General of People's Republic of China in Chicago, attended the opening reception of Katten's new office in Shanghai on February 22. Former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley joined Katten as Counsel to the firm. There were about 50 local business leaders and officials attending the reception.

Yang congratulated the opening of Katten's new office in Shanghai. He said the China-US economic relationship is close interconnected. Nowadays more and more Chinese companies regard America as first choice for overseas investment destination. The investment from China has infused more energy into the United States' economy and created much more jobs for American. Meanwhile, Chinese economy and its market with great potential bring more opportunities for American law offices to expand business in China. He expected more American law firms to set up offices in China. Yang also emphasized that the recent visit by Vice President Xi to the United States is a great success, especially his visit in Iowa. It has renewed the sincere friendship between Vice President and the Iowa people, and will surely promote the China-US cooperative partnership based on mutual respect and mutual benefit.

The former Mayor Daley also made a remark. He spoke highly of the China-US relationship and stressed the great significance of recent Vice President Xi's visit to the relationship between the two countries.
