On Feb 16, Consul General Xu Erwen met with Mr. Julián Castro, Mayor of San Antonio, in the city of San Antonio, Texas. Vice-Consul Yang Jing was present.

Consul General Xu gave her appreciation to Mayor Castro for his support to the development of China-US relations. She also expressed her delight to witness the dynamic growth of trade and cultural/educational exchanges between China and San Antonio in recent years. She looks forward to joining hands with Mayor Castro in further promoting the all-round cooperation between San Antonio and China.

Mayor Castro briefed Consul General Xu with the latest economic development of San Antonio. He said that, San Antonio is one of the most dynamic cities in the state of Texas, and in the US at large. The city is experiencing rapid growth in tourism, health care, information technology, aviation and new energy. San Antonio welcomes Chinese tourists as well as investments.

San Antonio is the second largest city in Texas, and the seventh largest city in US. It's a well-known tourist city in US, and is also the seat of one of the most famous health science centers in South Texas. San Antonio has a diversified economy and leads in the areas of bioscience, information technology, aviation, education, sports, etc.
