On 1 and 2 March, 2012, H.E. Ambassador Yang Houlan went to Gongar and Lamabagar, Dolakha and visited Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project being constructed by Sinohydro Corporation.

Yang went to the construction site to know about the progress of the project, and interacted with the Chinese workers of Sinohydro and the Nepali owner of the project. Yang said that Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project is an important cooperation project between China and Nepal in hydropower sectors. He hoped that under the joint efforts of the Chinese and Nepali sides, the project could be completed with good quality in due time, to serve a model of cooperation between China and Nepal in hydropower.

Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project is designed to have a capacity of 456MW, and is expected to be completed in 2015.
