On 1 March, 2012, H.E. Ambassador Yang Houlan visited Gaurishankar Higher Secondary School, located in Jagat, Lamabagar, Dolakha, which shares the border with China's Tibet. Yang received warm welcome by the teachers and students.
The teachers and students of the school said that there is only one mountain between Dolakha and Tibet, the two peoples have close ties and traditional friendship. The school is located in remote mountain area and the school facilities are not sufficient. They hope to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation with Chinese side to improve the teaching capacity.
Yang told the long history of China-Nepal friendly exchanges to the students. He said that the Himalaya could not block the friendship between China and Nepal. He hoped and believed that the young students would inherit the tradition and compose the new chapter of China-Nepal friendship. The Chinese side would positively push forward the mutual cooperation and assistance between China-Nepal border areas, and further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation in education, culture and economy in border areas.
