Ambassador Liu Jianchao Presents Letter of Credence to Indonesian President

On March 9, 2012, the newly-appointed Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Mr. Liu Jianchao presented letter of credence to H.E. Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, President of the Republic of Indonesia at Merdeka Palace.
During their meeting, Ambassador Liu Jianchao conveyed to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono the cordial greetings from Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao. Liu said, since the establishment of strategic partners in 2005, China and Indonesia have maintained rapid development in the cooperation covering various fields. China highly values its relations with Indonesia and is looking forward to the upcoming state visit to China by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Liu said, China and Indonesia are major emerging economies with significant influence in regional and international affairs. I assume great responsibility for the further development of the bilateral ties when taking this postion at such an important time, and I will work hard for the development of China-Indonesia ties and the enhancement of our people-to-people friendship, Liu said.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono expressed his welcome to Amabssador Liu Jianchao, and conveyed warm greetings to President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao. He spoke highly of the sound momentum of the development of the bilateral ties and expressed the willingness of the Indonesian side to join hands with China to further the mutually-beneficial cooperation and establish a world of peace, stability, development and friendship. He said he is looking forward to the visit to China and would like to map out the blueprint for the future Indonesia-China ties with his Chinese counterparts in order to further enhance the strategic cooperation.
Ambassador Liu arrived in Jakarta on March 7.
