Ambassador Kuang Holds a Press Conference

On March 13, Chinese Ambassador Kuang Weilin held a press conference at the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone, during which he briefed the media on the recent press conference given by Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on the occasion of the Fifth Session of the Eleventh National People's Congress as well as the latest developments of China-Sierra Leone cooperation. He also answered questions from the media on various issues. Reporters from over ten media organizations including SLBC, Awoko, Standard Times and others, attended the event.

Ambassador Kuang said China pursues independent foreign policy of peace and peaceful development. It will enhance its friendly relations and cooperation with other countries and regional and international organizations. It will work with them to deepen common interests, meet global challenges and safeguard world peace and promote common development. China regards Africa as its partner and is willing to work with African countries to build a bright future. He said that China- Sierra Leone bilateral relations stand at a new stage of historic development. Both sides should seize the opportunity to deepen practical cooperation in various fields such as infrastructure, agriculture, health care, education, mining so as to open a new chapter in the bilateral relations.
