Prof. Zhang Hongyan

On March 13th, Ambassador Gao Yanping enjoyed the joint performance by Ms. Zhang Hongyan, a famous Chinese pipa player and professor from the China Central Conservatory of Music, and the Israel Netanya Kibbutz Orchestra in the auditoria of the Tel Aviv Museum for Arts. Counsellor Yang Yueming and Counsellor Dai Yuming etc. from the Chinese Embassy also attended the concert.

Prof. Zhang was invited by the Israel Netanya Kibbutz Orchestra to stage a performance tour to Israel. In the concert, the audience was deeply moved by the touching melodies of her pipa solo of Moonlit Night on the Spring River and her pipa concerto with the Israel Netanya Kibbutz Orchestra. The perfect joint performance by Prof. Zhang and the Orchestra won repeated warm applauses and high praise from the audience.

When the concert came to the end, Ambassador Gao stepped onto the stage, warmly shook hands with Prof. Zhang and with the musicians of the Orchestra, sincerely hoped that Prof. Zhang's performance tour to Israel would be successful. Ambassador Gao praised Prof. Zhang highly for her promotion of Chinese culture and friendship of the Chinese people by playing pipa and expressed her thanks to Prof. Zhang for her contribution to the mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and Israel.
