Mrs. Ruan Wei, Wife of Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Meets with Mrs. Hisila Yami, Wife of Nepal's Prime Minister

On 6 March, 2012, Mrs. Ruan Wei, Wife of Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, attended a breakfast meeting hosted by Mrs. Hisila Yami, Wife of Nepal's Prime Minister. The two sides cordially exchanged their views on bilateral relations, and women's role and challenges in their own countries. Mrs. Wang Lixin, Counselor along with other women diplomats from Chinese Embassy and Ms. Sabina, Central Committee Member of UCPN(Maoists) also attended the meeting and interacted on the above issues.

Yami highly appreciated Chinese's women's social status and achievements. Yami said that as Nepal's peace process and constitutional writing processes are being concluded, Nepal should learn from China's experience in women's policy, to continue to raise women's status in Nepal.

Ruan said that as the International Women's Day is approaching, she is very pleased to interact with Prime Minister's wife on women-related issues. Such program will enhance mutual understanding and deepen the friendship. China and Nepal are friendly neighbors. Chinese and Nepalese women have traditional friendship. The two sides can have more friendly exchanges and cooperation in the future.
