Shanghai Expects to Step up Cooperation with Chicago

On March 20 and 21, H. E. Feng Guoqin, Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference of Shanghai Committee led a high-level delegation to visit Chicago. During the visit, Feng met with Deputy Mayor of Chicago Mark Angelson and Secretary of State of Illinois Jesse White as well as witnessed the signing of the MOU on Cross Promotion between Shanghai and Chicago. The Chinese Consul General to Chicago Yang Guoqiang attended the above activities.
Feng spoke highly of the full-fledged cooperation between Shanghai and Chicago since the establishment of sister city relations between the two cities in 1985. With the signing of the MOU, he added, the mutual understanding and friendly cooperation between Shanghai and Chicago will be further entrenched and uplifted. Angelson and White echoed the remarks of Feng by expressing the hope that the MOU will serve better the efforts of the municipal government of Chicago to make it the most -friendly city to China in the U.S.
The MOU will be carried out from May through October of this year. The mutual promotional videos will be broadcast in key business districts and transport hubs of Shanghai and Chicago in a bid to promote the cities' image and enhance the mutual understanding and cooperation.
