H.E. Ambassador Yang Houlan Meets the Minister for Youth and Sports of Nepal

On 21 March, 2012, H.E. Ambassador Yang Houlan met with Hon. Ms. Kamala Rokka, the Minister for Youth and Sports of Nepal. The two sides cordially exchanged their views on the exchanges in youth and sports areas between the two countries.

Rokka thanked the Chinese government for its generous assistance to the development of Nepal's sports sector. He referred to the Dashrath Stadium renovated by Chinese government, where AFC Challenge Cup was held successfully. In the coming days, Nepal is going to hold more regional and international games, and he hopes to gain continuous support from the Chinese side. The Nepali side also thanked Chinese Premier Wen for inviting 100 Nepali young people to visit China during his official visit to Nepal this year. He wished to further strengthen the exchanges of youth and athletes between the two countries.

Yang said that China and Nepal are good friends and neighbors. The friendly exchanges between the two countries have a long history. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Nepal, China has assisted Nepal for constructing the sports facilities such as stadium, swimming pool, shooting pavilion, etc., and help Nepal to train athletes. The Chinese side will continue to extend our support. Youth are the future of a country. The youth exchange is an important part of bilateral relations. He hoped that the two sides will make joint efforts to strengthen the friendly exchanges and cooperation in sports and youth areas.
