Commemorating the 40th Anniversary through Concrete Cooperation

'Concrete cooperation is the best way to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Malta-China diplomatic relations', said Dr. Tonio Borg, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Malta when he received a courtesy call by Chinese Ambassador Cai Jinbiao on 3rd April.
Dr. Borg reiterated that the past 40 years of diplomatic relations have proved Malta-China relationship is a good example of how countries with different sizes and historical background can achieve friendly and fruitful relations. With strong foundation as such, Dr. Borg added, the bilateral relations deserve new effort from both sides to bring about more and more tangible cooperation to the benefits of the two peoples.|
While expressing his satisfaction with the achievements of the friendly relations and cooperation between China and Malta, Ambassador Cai briefed Dr. Borg on the outcome of the newly concluded NPC and CPPCC meetings. He stressed with China's '12th five-year plan' and Malta's '2015 vision plus' and EU '2020 strategy' on full implementation process, China and Malta share the same task for development and face new opportunities for more cooperation. Mr. Cai committed himself to working jointly with the Maltese government to instill new momentum for the uplifting of the Sino-Maltese relations.
