Chinese Ambassador Shen Zhifei met with Croatian Tourism Minister Veljko Ostojic on April 4, 2012.

Ambassador Shen expressed his satisfaction on a big increase of Chinese tourists coming to Croatia for visits. The Chinese side appreciates greatly the loose visa policy towards the Chinese tourists adopted by the Croatian government in the past two years and supports the Croatian tourism agencies to promote in China. At the same time, the Chinese side also welcomes more Croatians to visit China. He expressed his confidence that the cooperation on tourism would deepen the understanding of the two peoples and enhance the cooperation on trade and economy between the two countries.

Minister Veljko Ostojic expressed that the Croatian side had paid high attention to the dominate position of the Chinese tourist markets and seen a very good result by promoting its tourism in China together with Slovenia. The Croatian government is willing to provide more convenience to the Chinese people in encouraging them to come to Croatia and apt to welcome Chinese enterprises to invest on tourism in Croatia.

Mr. Qian Yongchang, Counselor on Economic Affairs and other officer of the Chinese Embassy were also present at the meeting.
