'Fruitful results of introducing Chinese language and culture into Maltese schools were achieved', commented Ms. Dolores Cristina, Minister of Education and Employment, on receiving a courtesy call by Chinese Ambassador Cai Jinbiao on 20th April.

Whilst appreciating the contribution and support by the Ministry on helping increase the interest of Maltese citizens in the Chinese language and culture, Ambassador Cai also expressed his expectations for more attention on the work of the Confucius Institute officially launched last October. Employment qualification support by the Employment and Training Corperation is recommended by the Minister to Chinese nationals in Malta.

Exchange of visits between the two Ministries of Education and possibilities of mutual recognition of higher education qualification were also discussed during the meeting.
