On May 15, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Jieyi met with the US delegation of 27 university students majoring in diplomacy organized by the China International Travel Service and the US Envision EMI.

Liu extended warm welcome to the US students and introduced China and the major achievements of China-US relations over the 3 decades since the two countries established diplomatic ties. He pointed out that the bright future of bilateral relations rests on the youth of both countries and expressed hope that the visit and exchanges would help the US students to comprehensively and objectively understand China and its relations with the US so that they would contribute actively to increasing the mutual understanding and friendship between China and the US and promoting the development of bilateral ties.
