On June 3, 2008, the second meeting of the steering committee on the Heiligendamm Process, a follow-up mechanism of the G8 Summit Outreach Session between the G8 and China, India, Brazil, South Africa and Mexico in 2007, was held in Paris, France. Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Jieyi attended the meeting and exchanged views with all other parties on the G8 Summit Outreach Session.
