On May 6, 2011, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Guoping on invitation met with Uzbek Deputy Foreign Minister Salikhbaev Anvar Saidovich, who paid a stop-over visit to Beijing on his way back home. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on issues including bilateral ties, as well as how to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries during Uzbek President Karimov's visit to China in April.
