Ministries of Foreign Affairs of China and Bosnia and Herzegovina Hold Vice Foreign Minister-Level Consultation

From September 4 to 5, 2011, Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying attended the vice foreign minister-level consultation with Deputy Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ana Trisic Babic in Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She also met with Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zeljko Komsic and Foreign Minister Sven Alkalaj. Chinese ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Wang Fuguo attended the activities.
Fu said that the Chinese people have warm feeling with the Bosnia and Herzegovina people and the city of Sarajevo as well and always pay attention to the development of the country. China thinks highly of the achievements of Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of maintaining peace, achieving national reconciliation and restoring economic growth. China respects Bosnia and Herzegovina's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and supports all nationalities of Bosnia and Herzegovina to live in harmony and seek development. The two countries have developed sound political mutual trust which lays down a solid foundation for the bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina side appreciates China's pursuit of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and the policy of treating all countries, being big or small, as equals and admires China's development achievements. It stressed that to develop relations with China is recognized by all the Bosnia and Herzegovina people.
The two sides agreed that the sound political relations be translated into tangible results of economic cooperation. Bosnia and Herzegovina has deep interest in cooperating with China in the fields of infrastructure and agriculture and welcomes investment from the Chinese enterprises. Fu said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is restoring its economy while Chinese enterprises are accelerating their pace of "going abroad". The two sides have strong complementarities and rich cooperation opportunities. Chinese enterprises have technologies, capital and strength, but they are very new to the overseas market, especially to Bosnia and Herzegovina. She hopes Bosnia and Herzegovina makes full use of the various Chinese exhibitions to strengthen targeted promotion and provides the Chinese investors with necessary support and help. She also expects to see outcomes of the ongoing project negotiations between businesses of the two countries which will have a demonstration effect.
The two sides also exchanged views on strengthening cultural exchanges, cooperation within the framework of the United Nations as well as the regional and international issues of common concern.
During her stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fu received interviews of the local media, including the Daily Voice newspaper, National TV Station1 and Independence newspaper.
