Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying Holds Consultations with the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deputy State Secretary

2011/10/18

On October 18, 2011, Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying held the foreign ministry - level political consultations with the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deputy State Secretary János Hóvári. The two sides exchanged opinions on China-Hungary relations, China-Europe relations and other issues of common interest.

Fu spoke highly of the bilateral relations. She said that Premier Wen Jiabao's successful visit to Hungary and participation in the China-Central and Eastern European countries economic and trade forum in June this year not only comprehensively deepened China-Hungary relations but also stimulated the Central and Eastern European countries' passion of cooperating with China. She hopes the two sides actively implement the results of Premier Wen's visit and strengthen the bilateral cooperation. She expects Hungary to play an active role of promoting China-Europe relations.

Hóvári said that Hungary attaches great importance to the relations with China and will continue to uphold the one-China principle and respect China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Premier Wen's historic visit to Hungary is highly meaningful. He hopes the two sides make joint efforts to implement the consensus reached by leaders of both countries and boost the bilateral trade, mutual investment and cultural cooperation.
