According to certain resources, from May 2 to 4, the US personnel inspected the EP-3 reconnaissance plane, which landed at the Lingshui Airport in China's Hainan Province. During the inspection, the Chinese side briefed the US Side on the result of the investigation about the air incident in which the US spy plane rammed into the Chinese plane. The US side expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for its assistance provided during the inspection. According to the same resources, the US personnel already left China after the inspection on May 5th.

The two sides will hold further talks to eventually resolve the issue.
