Vanuatu President Arrives in Beijing for Visit

On the noon of July 8, 2007, at the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao, Vanuatu's President Kalkot Mataskelekele arrived in Beijing, kicking off his six-day state visit to China.

During the visit, Hu Jintao, Chairman Wu Bangguo of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) and other Chinese leaders will meet and hold talks with Mataskelekele. The two sides will exchange views on bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues of common concern.

Besides Beijing, Mataskelekele will also visit Shanxi and Shenzhen.
