Chinese, Belarusian Presidents Exchange Congratulatory Messages on 20th Anniversary of Diplomatic Ties
On January 20, 2012, Chinese President Hu Jintao exchanged congratulatory messages with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
China-Belarus relations have been developing soundly and steadily since diplomatic ties were established 20 years ago, marked by growing mutual political trust, fruitful cooperation in economy and economy, trade, finance, science, technology and military technology, and increasing people-to-people and cultural exchanges, Hu said in his message. The two countries have maintained close communication and coordination in international and regional affairs and the content of bilateral cooperation has been constantly enriched, Hu said, adding that all these have brought tangible benefits to both countries and peoples. China is ready to work with Belarus to take the opportunity of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties to further raise the level of bilateral ties and advance mutually beneficial cooperation in an all-round way for the benefit of both peoples, he said.
Belarus always sees developing relations with China as a foreign policy priority, Lukashenko said in his message. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 20 years ago, both countries have established close friendly cooperative relations on the basis of traditional friendship. There have been frequent exchanges of top-level visits and bilateral cooperation in such areas as economy and trade, culture, science, technology and education is expanding constantly. The two countries have maintained a common position on major international issues and had fruitful cooperation in international organizations, Lukashenko said. He expressed Belarus' readiness to work with China to consolidate traditional friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and bring their relations to a higher level.
On the same day, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi also exchanged messages with his Belarusian counterpart Sergei Martynov.
