On September 29, 2004, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met with his Armenian counterpart Oskanyan in New York.

Li said that the Chinese side respects the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia. Currently bilateral relations enjoy stable development. Cooperation in all fields between the two sides is unceasingly expanding and deepening. Oskanyan expressed that Armenia attaches great importance to the relationship with China. He thanked the Chinese side for its support and help in the economic and social development of Armenia and reaffirmed that Armenia will firmly uphold the one China policy.
