In the evening of January 10, 2012, State Councilor Dai Bingguo attended and addressed the reception hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and China Central Asia Friendship Association (CCAFA) in the Great Hall of the People to celebrate the 20th anniversary of China's diplomatic ties with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. Around 260 people, including Honorary President of the CCAFA Simayi Aimaiti, President of the CPAFFC Li Xiaolin, President of the CCAFA Zhang Deguang, delegates of the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Culture as well as diplomats and commercial representatives of the five Central Asian countries in China attended the reception.

Dai said in the speech that China's relations with the five Central Asian countries have gained long-term and comprehensive development since the diplomatic ties were established 20 years ago. The two sides maintain close high-level contacts, enjoy ever deepening political mutual trust, share support for major issues of each other's concern and have expanded mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields. They coordinate closely within the multilateral frameworks such as the UN and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and have made active contributions to safeguarding and promoting world peace, stability and development. China and Central Asian countries have become good neighbors, friends and partners with interwoven interest. No matter how the international situation fluctuates, the Chinese government will unswervingly pursue the diplomatic principle of being a good friend and a good partner of neighboring countries, support the development path chosen by the five Central Asian countries on their own, promote the traditional friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with them and work with them to make unremitting efforts to build a harmonious world with lasting peace and common prosperity. China is willing to coordinate with them closely and take the opportunity of celebrating the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties to strengthen political mutual trust, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, develop traditional friendship and create a promising future of bilateral relations.

Li Xiaolin pointed out that the CPAFFC and the CCAFA will continue to drive forward China's relations with the five countries and play an active role of enhancing the understanding and friendship between the Chinese people and people of those countries.

The diplomats of the five countries addressed the event respectively, speaking highly of the development of their countries' friendly and cooperative relations with China. They will join hands with China to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders and raise their good-neighborly friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with China to a new level.
