2007/01/19

On January 19, 2007, Assistant Foreign Minister Li Hui met with all the participants of the workshop for diplomats from Central Asian countries. Li welcomed the diplomats from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to attend the workshop and congratulate them on the successful conclusion of their studies. Li said that China attaches great importance to the friendship with the four countries and is willing to strengthen the mutually beneficial cooperation with the four countries in all fields and make contributions to safeguarding the security and stability in the region and promoting common development and prosperity. Li pointed out that the purpose of conducting the workshop by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to enhance the understanding of diplomats from Central Asian countries on China, deepen the friendship between Chinese and Central Asian diplomats, and promote the development of bilateral friendly ties between China and the four Central Asian countries. Li hoped that the workshop participants could benefit from their studies and become supporters and promoters for the development of friendly relations between China and Central Asian countries.

The representatives from the four countries delivered speeches respectively. They thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and China Foreign Affairs University for creating good conditions for their studies in China. The over-two-week-long studies made them understand more of the history, national conditions, cultures, political systems, and diplomatic policies of China. Every workshop participant was deeply impressed. They would work on the development of friendly cooperative relations with China when they returned to their countries.
