Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing Holds Talks with His Chadian Counterpart Allam-Mi

On April 19, 2007, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing held talks with visiting Chadian Minister of External Relations Ahmad Allam-Mi in Beijing. Li said since the two countries restored diplomatic ties nine months ago, bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields have scored remarkable progress and the China-Chad friendly cooperative ties have witnessed smooth development. China will work with Chad in strengthening political mutual trust, expanding personnel exchanges and deepening exchanges and cooperation in economy and trade for common development, said Li. China is also ready to expand bilateral cultural exchanges to promote comprehensive friendship and strengthen coordination and cooperation in international affairs to push for all-round, in-depth development of bilateral ties, added Li. Agreeing with Li's comments on bilateral ties, Allam-Mi reviewed the positive achievements in bilateral cooperation since the two countries resumed diplomatic ties. He said Chad attaches great importance to relations with China and will further expand cooperation and consolidate friendly relationship between the two countries. The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern. After their talks, the two ministers attended the reopening ceremony of Chadian embassy in China. At the invitation of Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, Allam-Mi started his official visit to China on April 18.
