On September 27, 2007, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met with Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Sergei Mironov at the Great Hall of the People. Wen said this year marks the beginning of the second decade since the establishment of Sino-Russian strategic and cooperative partnership. Sino-Russian relations had developed comprehensively over the past decade and reached a brand-new level, said Wen, adding that China would like to work with Russia to promote the strategic and cooperative partnership in the next decade. The premier said currently Sino-Russian economic and trade ties have been developing smoothly with a sound momentum of cooperation. The two countries were expected to map out a new plan for cooperation in the 12th meeting between the prime ministers in Moscow in November, said Wen. He expressed hope that both sides will make joint efforts in making preparations for the meeting to promote in-depth development of bilateral cooperation in all areas at a higher level. Mironov said he was happy to see further development of Sino-Russian strategic and cooperative partnership, pointing out that bilateral trade relations have entered an unprecedented level in history. The Russian Federation Council would make more efforts to push forward trade cooperation with China, especially local trade exchanges.
