On April 28, 2004, Vice Foreign Minister Dai Bingguo met with his Russian counterpart Sergei Razov, who is in China for diplomatic consultations. The two sides exchanged views on the bilateral relations as well as international and regional issues of common interest. Dai expressed his thanks for Russia's resolute support for China on the issues of Taiwan and human rights, and believed that through the joint efforts by the two sides, China-Russia strategic partnership of cooperation would enjoy better development. Razov held that the two sides share basically identical opinions on many issues and the consultations have further enhanced mutual understanding and trust. The new Russian administration will comprehensively deepen China-Russia relations as before.
