In 2010, the friendly and cooperative relationship between the People's Republic of China and the Union of Comoros continued to grow. The two sides had closer high-level contacts. From 24 to 25 January, Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun visited Comoros. He met with President Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi and President of the National Assembly Bourbane Hamidou, and held talks with Foreign Minister Ahmed Ben Said Jaffare. From 4 to 8 July, Vice President Idi Nadhoim led a delegation to China for the National Pavilion Day of Comoros at the Shanghai Expo. In May, Foreign Minister Jaffare attended the 4th Ministerial Meeting of China-Arab Cooperation Forum. Bilateral economic cooperation and trade made steady progress. The rural schools and the repair project of the TV station on the Anjouan Island with Chinese assistance were completed smoothly. And the projects of Comorian National Tourism Office Building and presidential offices on the Anjouan Island and Moheli Island were successfully launched. Bilateral exchanges and cooperation in health, cultural and other fields were unfolding. China sent the eighth medical team to Comoros. Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine provided malaria prevention and control services, which produced good medical results and social benefits. In November, the Anhui Art Troupe staged performances in Comoros in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
