China and Cote d'Ivoire
(Last Update: 2011/08/22)

The friendly relations and cooperation between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire continued to grow steadily and their cooperation in various fields progressed smoothly in 2010.

Exchanges between the two sides maintained a good momentum. In August, Kacou Gervais Jean-Marie, Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Integration of Cote d'Ivoire, attended the National Pavilion Day event of Cote d'Ivoire at the Shanghai World Expo as representative of the government of Cote d'Ivoire.

Economic cooperation and trade between the two countries moved forward smoothly. The Gagnor Hospital built with Chinese assistance passed the internal examination. Chinese agricultural experts succeeded in the trial project of growing improved strain of rice in Guiguidou and were working hard to roll out the project to more regions. Good progress was made in the E-government network and the Concorde residential project built with Chinese concessional loans.

Cooperation in education went on well. The Chinese language teaching programs in the University of Cocody-Abidjan and the University of Baouake produced good results.
