On May 17, 2013, Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met respectively in Hangzhouwith President of Mozambique Armando Guebuza and Governor-General of Antigua and Barbuda Louise Lake-Tack, who are present for the second annual conference of the World Cultural Forum (Taihu, China).
During the meeting with Guebuza, Yu Zhengsheng said that China and Mozambique enjoy a profound traditional friendship. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1975, China-Mozambique relationship has always maintained sound and smooth development, with fruitful cooperation in agriculture and other fields. China places importance on developing its relations with Mozambique and is willing to work with Mozambique to implement the agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries and to continuously upgrade the level of bilateral friendly cooperation.
Yu Zhengsheng said that China will strengthen dialogues and cooperation with Mozambique and other African countries, joining the efforts with them to deal with challenges in economic development and building an ecologically sound civilization.
Guebuza said that the Mozambique-China friendship is with firm basis and the bilateral cooperation has great potential and broad prospects. The Mozambican side thanks for China's assistance for the economic and social development of Mozambique. Mozambique will deepen practical cooperation with China in the fields of agriculture, energy and infrastructure, joining its efforts with China to achieve sustainable development.
In the meeting with Lake-Tack, Yu Zhengsheng noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relationship between the two countries, China and Antigua and Barbuda have always treated each other with equality and mutual respect and helped each other, and enjoyed all-round development of bilateral cooperation in all areas. The Chinese side appreciates and thanks Antigua and Barbuda for its precious support on issues concerning China's core interests and major concerns. China is willing to join hands with Antigua and Barbuda, to deepen practical cooperation and to bring more benefits to the two peoples.
Lake-Tack spoke highly of the development of the bilateral relations for 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relationship between the two countries, expressing willingness to enhance cooperation in tourism and other fields as well as friendly exchanges with China to boost the relations between the two countries.
