Zeng Qinghong Meets with Equatorial Guinean Foreign Minister

On June 6, 2005, Vice President Zeng Qinghong met in the Great Hall of the People with visiting Equatorial Guinean Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophone Affairs Pastor Micha Ondo Bile. Zeng said the relations between China and Equatorial Guinea have been developing in a sound and stable manner regardless of temporal and international vicissitudes over the past 35 years since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties. The two sides have conducted sincere, friendly and productive cooperation in politics, economy, trade, culture, science and technology. China thanks the government of Equatorial Guinea for its long-term adherence to the one-China policy and its support for China's reunification cause. The relations between the two countries are facing with a good opportunity of development and the two sides should grasp the opportunity to uplift bilateral relations to a higher level with joint efforts. Micha said the friendly cooperation between China and Equatorial Guinea since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties has brought tangible benefits to both peoples. China offered generous help to Equatorial Guinea when the country was going through the toughest period. Now substantial progress has been scored in Equatorial Guinea's economy and there should be greater opportunity and potential for bilateral cooperation. Micha expected more Chinese enterprises to invest on more projects in his country. He also reiterated that the government of Equatorial Guinea would firmly support the one-China policy.
