Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and French Affairs of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea

On June 18, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met in the Foreign Ministry with Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and French Affairs of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea Pastor Micha Ondo Bile, who is here in China for a working visit.

Zhai thanked Micha for making a special trip to China to express condolences over the Sichuan earthquake and hand over a donation of the Equatorial Guinean government. Zhai said recent years have witnessed in-depth development of bilateral friendly cooperative relations, expressing hope that the two sides will continue to make joint efforts to raise the friendly cooperation to one new level after another. Zhai also briefed the guest on China's relief efforts and preparations for the Beijing Olympic Games.

Micha said the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, as a friend of China, was ready to offer help within its capacity for China to win the fight against the disaster. He expressed satisfaction with the smooth development of bilateral ties. Micha said the Republic of Equatorial Guinea is striving to develop its economy and welcomes more Chinese companies to invest in the country and participate in Equatorial Guinea's economic construction. Micha also wished the Beijing Olympic Games a complete success.
