On December 9, 2009, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao at request held a telephone conversation with his Ethiopian counterpart Meles Zenawi. Both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations, China-Africa cooperation as well as how to cope with climate change. The two leaders pledged to work together to push forward the new type of strategic partnership between China and Africa.
