On the evening of August 22, 2006, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing held a phone conversation with UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan upon request, exchanging views with him regarding the implementation of the UN resolution 1701 on the Lebanon-Israel situation and the appropriate handling of the Iranian nuclear issue.
