On August 1, 2007, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister He Yafei met with visiting Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) SOM (Senior Officials Meeting) Chair Mr David Spencer, who is also Deputy Secretary of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade. Both sides discussed relevant arrangements and proposals for the APEC Economic Leaders Meeting to be held in Sydney this September.
