A: The Chines side expresses its deep concern over the large-scale simulated space confrontation exercise conducted by the US military. The exercise once again shows that weaponization in the outer space is a very pressing and real question. Weaponization in the outer space will not only undermine the peaceful utilization of the outer space by various countries, but also trigger new arms races, especially arms race in the outer space, to the detriment of peace and security in the world.

China has always stood for peaceful utilization of the outer space and opposed arms race in the outer space. The Chinese side holds that the international community should take effective measures, including concluding at an early date an international legal instrument through negotiations at the UN Conference on Disarmament to ensure that the outer space is used entirely for peaceful purposes.
