On the 5th April, Director-General Zhang Yan of the Department of Arms Control and Disarmament held consultation with Ambassador Sergio Duarte of Brazil, the designated President of the 7th Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They exchanged views on the agenda, organizational work and substantive issues of the upcoming NPT Review Conference. Both agree that efforts should be made by the State Parties to ensure a successful conference, which is essential for enhancing the universality, authority and effectiveness of the NPT.
