Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing Meets with the Special Representative Lamarck for Entry into Force of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT)

On April 18, Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met with the special representative, Dutch Ambassador Lamarck who was visiting China to promoting the entry into force of Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) at the request of the latter. Foreign Minister Li expressed that CTBT is conducive to preventing nuclear weapons from proliferating, to maintaining the world peace and stability, and to the common interests of the international community including China. China supports the treaty to go into effect at an early date and is willing to work with all parties to this end.

Lamarck commended China's positive attitude towards the treaty. He emphasized the significance of China's approval of the treat and also hoped that the Chinese side could approve the treaty as early as possible.
